The correct nomenclature for this breed is CENTRAL ASIAN OVCHARKA (CAO).  The Club is called the "Central Asian Ovcharka Club of the United Kingdom (CAO Club UK)" and the breed is proven to have been in existence and remained relatively unchanged for 5000 years, but some recent historical relics found could now possibly predate the breeds existence to 12000BC.  It is therefore believed to be the oldest breed of dog in the world! 

The CAO Club UK aims to be a guardian for the breed and promote its unique and wonderful characteristics throughout the world.  They have been the guardians of man since the beginning of time so we aim to return the favour.
